Warstone TD: Gold Edition is on Xbox

Garnering a mass of Very Positive reviews on Steam, many have been enjoying the unique tower-defense gameplay of Warstone TD since its launch in 2018. Now, Warstone TD: Gold Edition offers Xbox gamers the best way to play this fantasy strategy title on console.

Unique Systems

Releasing today on Xbox consoles, Warstone TD: Gold Edition sees you rescue your humble village from the might of an invading army force. You are a true hero, destined to save your community from a wretched evil villain. It’s a bit of luck, then, that you have the power of dwarves, witches, amazons and many other units at your disposal. And better still, all are eager and waiting to rain down fire on waves of incoming enemies.

In many ways, Warstone TD: Gold Edition is classic tower-defense action. Hordes of foes will come down a clear pathway, intent on getting to the end of the level to damage your village. Along the way, you can place a variety of units to attack enemies as soon as they approach. Where the difference is, however, is in how you can build your units.

Levels will start with you just a few units to place, and as the round progresses, defeated foes will drop further ‘stones’, with which you can add new units into the battle. Instead of an ever-filling resource metre, you are rewarded by killing enemies. Kill, kill, and kill some more, my dear warrior!

Key Features

  • 7 basic units, with a further 15 available as upgrades!
  • Intriguing story with beautifully drawn artwork.
  • 3 Vastly different Classes for you to choose from: Warlord, Sorcerer, and Treasurer. Over 70 different skills in all!
  • Diverse array of spells: Firewall, Lightning, Meteor Shower, Titan’s Fist, Summon Elemental, Poisonous Cloud, Transmutation, and more! Only 4 spells can be brought into battle though, so choose wisely!
  • Multiple different game modes: Classic, Challenge, Survival, Maze, Hero Defense, Attack/Defend (Also used in PvP,) and Co-op missions.
  • Upgrade Defenders in the workshop! Multiple upgrades with several tiers for each defender. More upgrades become available as you build and improve your town.

Now Available!

Different classes to choose from, a plethora of units to choose from, and many, many modes to try out: Warstone TD: Gold Edition seems like a full package. It’s now available on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One – find it over on the Xbox Store for £10.74.

As always, we will have a full Warstone TD: Gold Edition review for Xbox up soon.

Game Description

Warstone is a Tower Defense game with RPG elements, strategy and city building. A dreaded chieftain is assembling an army intent on taking over the kingdom. Villagers cry out for a hero, help them to rise up against the forces of this feared villain.

Construct buildings to strengthen your village, train your army and equip your allies. Look for key-assistance in other villages, such as dwarves, amazons, and witches. With their help and the strengthening of your army, lead missions, defeat the invaders and make the region a safe place again. We are stronger together!

Unlike regular Tower Defense games, Warstone TD has a unique method of summoning defenders (towers represented by player’s allies and army). You start a mission with a fairly empty map and a few stones where you can place defenders. As the level progresses, more stones appear and some even drop from enemies, allowing you to place them in any valid position on the map. Powerful warstones also occasionally appear, which give significant bonuses to specific defenders when placed on them.

You can summon any of the army’s base classes on the stones. Each base class has its own specialization path, type of damage, gold cost, and special abilities. With such a variety of defenders and gameplay classes, there’s a huge amount of tactics, further increasing replayability!

I'm an avid gamer who will play pretty much anything... but stick an open world or adventure game in front of me and I'm more than happy.

Warstone is a really fun game. I’m playing the Xbox version and it’s been a lot of fun deploying warriors and managing the village.
