Darren Edwards

I have been playing games since a very early age, thanks to my Dad's encouragement. I've been an Xbox gamer since the very beginning, the Master Chief is to thank for that. I'm also a big Nintendo geek, and my other half is a PlayStation nut. I'll play pretty much anything in any genre (although FIFA and COD maybe pushing it).

Adore Review

Adore is simple by design but this means enjoyment is spread more thinly the longer you play.

Two Point Campus: Medical School Review

Two Point Campus: Medical School continues its excellent run, this time taking us back to where it all began which despite potential risks, pays off handsomely.

Broforce Forever Review

You can slice, shoot and smash your way through enemies to your heart’s content in Broforce Forever, in an over the top romp that does just about enough to avoid weariness setting in

Stray Review

Stray is a masterclass in escapism gaming. Taking a rather unusual perspective doesn’t stop this being a joyous experience from start to finish, irrespective of whether you are a cat person or not.

Neon Souls Review

Neon Souls is a run of the mill platformer that fails to stand out from the crowd.

Ship Graveyard Simulator Review

Ship Graveyard Simulator tries to bring the excitement of breaking ocean-bound vessels to your sofa. However, it ends up feeling like something best left buried at sea.

Ships Simulator Review

Ships Simulator is a voyage into the tedious, but the inexcusable visuals drag this one down to the depths.

Hello Neighbor 2 Review

Hello Neighbor 2 has a great idea at its core, and it works well overall. Its potential, however, seems limited and has possibly already been reached.

Firefighting Simulator – The Squad Review

Firefighting Simulator - The Squad manages to capture something of the dangerous (and dare we say) exciting profession. However, there’s not enough here to prevent it from ending up as a flash in the pan.

Signalis Review

Signalis punches above its weight in almost every aspect. Don’t miss out on this riveting, polished journey into a brutalist, nightmarish world.

Ship of Fools Review

Ship of Fools is plucky, punchy and downright addictive. It’s one of the best roguelites available; once it has its hooks in you, it’s hard to let go.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Galactic Edition Review

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Galactic Edition offers a fairly pricey way to boost your character roster. Some will love it, but it may well be lost on others. Still, the base game is brilliant.

Super Chicken Jumper Review

Super Chicken Jumper is a distinctly average option for fans of the genre; a game that doesn’t do much wrong, but also isn’t about to impress.

The Eternal Cylinder Xbox Series X|S Review

I absolutely adore The Eternal Cylinder, even more so now it has been optimised for Xbox Series X|S. Many games attempt to be bold, creative and offer an experience unlike any other. This is a game which does just that. You’ll struggle to find escapism better than this.

Broken Pieces Review

It may be something of a marmite genre, but Broken Pieces tells a story worth hearing, despite its elements not quite fitting together perfectly.

Why you should be playing Halo Infinite’s Winter Update

A few weeks ago I was sceptical, even worried, about the future of Halo. Rather ironically, despite the name, I felt as if the franchise’s days were numbered. However, this Winter Update for Halo Infinite has given me hope and underscored 343’s commitment to the game.

Batora: Lost Haven Review

Batora: Lost Haven is a cracking adventure boasting a powerful character driven story. Despite simple and sometimes unvaried gameplay, there’s enough here to keep you invested until this tale’s conclusion.

The Jackbox Party Pack 9 Review

The Jackbox Party Pack 9 brings new ideas without losing that winning formula.

Moonscars Review

Moonscars may look grim, but there’s little horror in allowing your morbid curiosity to get the better of you here.

Embraced by Autumn Review

The intro promises some future dramatic, potentially even salacious turns, but not one of the four different stories delivers. It’s all too tentative. In the end, Embraced by Autumn could have done with just a little more confidence and sass.
